Caroline Tissier, interior designer
Caroline Tissier is an architect and interior designer who specialises in hotels and restaurants.
Comfort, style and appeal are the driving forces behind the work of this former student of the École Boulle. Keen to avoid standardisation, she has a bespoke approach which reflects her clients’ personalities.
Some of her most recent projects, including the Michelin-star chef Jacky Ribault’s restaurant L’Ours and the Michelin-star restaurant L’Oiseau Rive Gauche for the Bernard Loiseau Group, are perfect illustrations of this approach.
Having worked for several years on various restaurants, including La Maison d’à Côté and Côté Bistro in Montlivault and La Table d’à Côté in Orléans, this talented architect has become a close friend of the chef Christophe Hay.
In December 2018, when the purchase of this 17th-century building, a former hospice in the heart of Blois, was announced, Caroline Tissier and her husband Alexis were understandably keen to be involved in this unusual project.
With Fleur de Loire, the chef Christophe Hay wanted to create a contemporary setting in synergy with the natural world with an outward-looking approach for a truly immersive and instructive experience.
Caroline Tissier drew primarily on the region’s landscapes, playing with naturalism while incorporating the new standards of luxury fine dining and hospitality.
The fluidity and the elegance of the décor are accentuated by the interweaving of natural materials, evoking the ebb and flow of the Loire river, to create a truly timeless setting.
Touches of matte gold and brass are also featured, paying tribute to the impressive past of the city and the châteaux of the Loire Valley.
