Fleur de Loire celebrates taste!

10/15/22
To celebrate the Week of Tastes, Fleur de Loire welcomed a visit from the local primary school École Quinière on 11 October.

As its name suggests, the Week of Tastes focuses on sharing and learning about all things related to taste and also showcases fine dining. Given the importance of taste from a very young age, food-related activities are organised across France, designed to stimulate children’s senses and educate their palates.

To mark the 33rd edition of this event, primary school children from the École Quinière in Blois came to meet the chef Christophe Hay at Fleur de Loire. This was an opportunity for the children to learn more about how vegetables are grown with a visit to the property’s vegetable garden, and to understand the importance of healthy eating.
Through games, the children learned about the different vegetables in the vegetable garden; this was a good way to find out about new vegetables, lesser known vegetables, older varieties and iconic regional varieties.

The chef Christophe Hay, the pastry chef Maxime Maniez and the executive chef Baptiste Ingouf then prepared various sweet and savoury treats with the children, who sampled their different textures.

The children and their teachers were thrilled to go home with armfuls of vegetables which they had picked themselves in Fleur de Loire’s vegetable garden.
